Some people love fantasy, games, or sci-fi. Others simply find the language more comforting and less clinical. You don’t need any knowledge of fantasy worlds — the metaphors are there to make things feel safer and easier to talk about, not to test your knowledge.


Wandering Ranger Therapy often suits people who:

  • experience anxiety or overthinking
  • feel overwhelmed or stuck
  • struggle with confidence or self-doubt
  • feel uncomfortable with traditional clinical settings
  • enjoy metaphor, imagination, or narrative frameworks


This is real, evidence-informed therapy.

The fantasy language is a framework, not the therapy itself. Sessions include solution-focused talking therapy and hypnotherapy, delivered professionally and ethically. The themes simply help explain concepts, reduce anxiety, and create emotional distance when talking about difficult things.


Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help you access a calmer, more receptive state of mind.

In this state, it can be easier to:

  • reduce anxiety responses
  • build confidence and emotional regulation
  • shift unhelpful patterns
  • reinforce new ways of responding

You remain aware and in control throughout — it’s not sleep, and you can stop at any time.


No.

Hypnotherapy is collaborative. You cannot be made to say or do anything against your will. You’ll hear everything that’s said, and you can move, speak, or stop whenever you choose.

Your autonomy always comes first.


Sessions last around 60 minutes and usually include:

  • ~30 minutes of talking therapy
  • ~30 minutes of hypnotherapy

The balance can shift depending on what feels most helpful for you.

Each session is guided by your goals and comfort level.


The First Step is an introductory consultation.

It’s a chance to:

  • talk through what’s bringing you here
  • understand how your mind works
  • ask questions about the process
  • see if Wandering Ranger Therapy feels like the right fit

There’s no obligation to continue beyond this conversation.


It’s a gentle way of understanding your inner landscape.

Together we look at:

  • what you’re dealing with
  • your strengths and resources
  • patterns that may be holding you back
  • what support might be helpful

There are no labels and no judgement — just clarity.


Everyone’s journey is different.

Some people notice changes in a few sessions. Others benefit from longer-term work. Many clients choose a 6-session package, as this allows time for understanding, change, and consolidation.

We’ll discuss options openly — nothing is fixed or forced.


Both.

You can book:

  • a single session
  • or a package of sessions at a reduced rate

Packages are optional and designed to support consistency, not to pressure you.


All sessions are currently offered online via Zoom.

You just need:

  • a quiet space
  • a stable internet connection
  • somewhere comfortable to sit or recline

Many people find online sessions feel safer and easier, especially when working with anxiety.


That’s very common.

You don’t need to arrive calm, confident, or “ready”. The session meets you where you are. Feeling nervous doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means you’re human.


Yes.

Everything you share is treated confidentially, within the usual ethical and legal limits of practice. These will be explained clearly before we begin.


That’s okay.

Not every therapist is right for every person. If Wandering Ranger Therapy doesn’t feel like the right path, I’ll be honest with you and, where possible, help you think about other options.


This work is best suited for mild to moderate anxiety and related difficulties.

If you’re experiencing severe mental health concerns, active risk, or require specialist support, I’ll help guide you toward appropriate services.
